see, i watch a thing on youtube from Cooridor Digital, where they review VFX (they are VFX artists) and many of the movies they review have

horrible gun flashes.
just saying, it cant be that easy if there are lots of recent bad examples.
but that is probably a problem of budgeting and VFX artists time.
