I binged Ted Lasso S1 & S2 this weekend. A question and some spoiler thoughts

Given a time crunch, I ffwd'd some segments I wasn't too interested in (Ted's phone calls home) - gasp I know, and now I'm here asking for a recap for what I deliberately missed: Does Ted go back home to be with his son during the off-season? I didn't get any sense from the show that he does, and it now seems like he signed up to be an absent father for at least 3 years, which feels out of character for him (even more so after his S2 reveal).

One of the most entertaining aspects of the show is trying to figure out how tall everyone is, because some locker room footage makes the entire team look like they're all 5'6" (which I imagine would get them slaughtered in the actual Premier League). The perspective the camera uses on Roy in particular usually makes him look short, and Rebecca look towering, so the scene where they're walking down the street together at equal height cracked me up. And then I look up the actors heights and it makes sense. I never would have guessed that Sudeikis is over 6'.

Roy's voice seems to be getting gruffer over time. I can't decide if Brett Goldstein has been trying to emulate Vinnie Jones or Batman.

If you'd told me that Sudeikis got this role based entirely off of his performance in Race, I'd believe it, because he was great in that too.

Juno Temple steals the show for me, partly because I had written her off years ago and I'm pleased at how dumb I feel now for that. The interaction between the female characters is great too. Her body language alone in listening to Jamie express his feelings at the funeral followed immediately by Roy's speech, was amazing. (I can't decide if Keeley wanking to video of Jamie would have been better or not as good as what they actually wrote.)

Big thumbs down on Nate's arc, I think because the writers didn't include the proper exposition or something. Jamie's reversal felt organic. If they'd given a heel turn to Keeley that would have felt understandable for someone competent to feel under appreciated suddenly being aggressive about wanting a bigger piece of the pie. But here we have a super timid ball-boy, who never in his wildest dreams would have been elevated at all under the previous coach or Rupert's ownership (or on *any* Premier League team??), gets noticed and supported by Ted and suddenly comes out bitching about how he isn't being noticed? And tearing up the Believe sign and deliberately placing it on the desk (rather than someone in a fit erratically tossing vandalized art to the floor)? Makes no sense, even for someone coming unhinged. And Nate moving to a rival team also feels like soap-opera writing.

Did Nate somehow avoid a life-changing session with Dr. Fieldstone? How did that happen? This arc trajectory would have ended right there if he had. (Though now I'm thinking it would have been interesting writing if she had missed a planned session with him due to the accident.)
