So Nick had a school history project where they had to write a series of letters as if they were a 19th century pen pal.

It had to have the usual exposition dumps about what historically relevant things were going on. They also had to use a mandatory number of literary devices like simile, metaphor, personification, etc.

In one of his letters, he still hadn't covered off personification, so he added: "I was happy to receive your last letter. The joyful news that your baby survived the BOFA virus made my heart sing."

Reader, I laughed hard.
