Like I said in the original post, I do think rookie need time to develop. Unfortunately, NFL teams just aren't patient anymore... -- (edited)

...especially with black QBs. White QBs get the Sam Darnold treatment if they fail, and move on to another team for a second chance. Black QBs become Geno Smith as a backup in Seattle if they don't immediately succeed. So, Fields and Lance need to produce early or they'll lose their starting positions. Lawrence and Wilson will have more room to grow, but not as much as in the 1980s and 90s.
I would agree with your assertion about situation except that three of those QBs I mentioned were #1 overall picks (Mayfiled, Murray and Burrow). So, their teams were the absolute worst the year before. I think it's more that the talented QBs show their ability far earlier than they used to. No matter what situation they find themselves in.
