Excel help.. I've got list items on another tab with colored backgrounds. I'd like those items to retain the cell color when I select.

You might have to write a series of if/then formulas. I don't think you can bring the formatting to a new cell (let alone worksheet). -- nm*

apparently there is a "Highlight Cells Rule" that you can set to the value of the cell. Have to do it for each list item in the table, then drag...

Edited oh wait, I think that has been there for awhile. It works with numbers, don't think it works with text. I've used it a lot -- (edited)

i can set to equals whatever word i'm trying to highlight and it seems okay with it -- nm
