I was today years old when I realized that any number (unless a multiple of 7) divided by seven results in the same digit pattern

The only difference is the starting digit. I don’t know why this isn’t something I noticed before.

1/7 = .142857…
2/7 = .285714…
3/7 = .428571…
4/7 = .571428…
5/7 = .714285…
6.7 = .857142…
