It does not come with the game. You can download them. I would suggest that you get a memory card for it - easy to add.

He’ll enjoy some of the Mario stuff I imagine. Smash Bros, Mario Kart, Etc.

Haven't done it since the Wii but, I would get as large as it can handle. SD cards are cheap. Games are big. -- nm

He's super big into Minecraft and Among Us so those are definites. Otherwise, *shrug*. I guess he'll let us know.
