Ohtani is a special case. When you use the pitcher as the DH or put the DH in the field you lose the DH and the pitcher now has to occupy that spot

Normally you never lose the DH in the AL and this suggested change would cause teams to lose it all the time. The DH isn't a problem in the AL so I don't see why you'd make a rule to take it away from teams at the end of games when they're wanted and needed the most.
