Tribal could have been a lot easier. They said no on Naseer because of his idol. If she uses her advantage to take his idol then they don't need to worry about it. She ends up with an idol, they dump Naseer (who certainly seemed willing to flip), they don't lose Syd as an ally.
The bigger mistake was that the smaller group told Naseer his name was thrown out, but none of them told Erika she was going home if she hadn't changed her fate. Nor that it was her old tribe that suggested it.
