The GOP picked up a net 1 seat in the NJ Senate (there were some seat swaps so it's not just this 1 seat that changed hands). Senate will be 24-16 Dem.
Sweeney has apparently been a conservative Dem foil to Sweeney's more progressive wants (I have no details on what those wants are or just how 'progressive' they are) so a new Senate President *could* in theory clear that logjam or part of it
HOWEVER, the Dems in the Senate let Sweeney be majority leader, right? So maybe they aren't all on board with progressiveness either? We'll see.
I mean, it worked pretty well in NY state when we finally kicked out most of the 'IDC' from Albany (and made the remaining IDC an irrelevant powerless minority). Perhaps NJ will do that too?
