I've heard the same thing.

I believe he and I are both ordained ministers (Universal Life Church). So I want to believe he's a nice guy right off the bat. :-)
A couple friends of mine worked around him (not for him) at his restaurants in Las Vegas. They've both said he is one of those folks who has a 2-dimensional public image, but is a wholly different, better person in real life. And incredibly humble in his restaurants and someone who really looks out for the folks he works with.
