you hire local people to do all those things - same as now. they just report to a national organization. it's not THAT different, just making it

This would be another big hurdle for them. The database sharing. You can register with EC through your tax return. Likely would be a tough sell. -- nm

And just like the IRS collects federal taxes and the state collect local taxes, states still have say in down ballot items.

Noone said that state can't run parallel elections, but centralizing and simplifying the system for federal elections isn't a threat to states' rights
