Things to do in St Louis if you only have a day and a half...

Drive through Forest Park and check out the mansions nearby.
Visit Soulard Farmers Market. (Cringe when you see rabbit meat for sale just moments after seeing live rabbits for sale as pets.)
Check out Union Station.
Eat at Pappy's Smokehouse!!! (You may know them from a Man vs. Food episode.) Get there early before they run out of food. I can recommend the Heifer and Hog combo. Try the deep-fried corn on the cob. And the cole slaw is fantastic.
Visit a casino. The signs said Casino Queen has the loosest slots. I was able to play for quite a while but still dropped more than I wanted. (Maybe next time I'll try Lumiere Place - the building looks cool with the cascading colored lights.)
Tour the Budweiser brewery - for the free beer, not the bland, rushed tour. (Tried Stella Artois for the first time - not impressed with Bud's new owner.)
Visit the Arch. It's still impressive on a 2nd trip. Too bad the rain put a damper on festivities Saturday.
Take a side trip to the Route 66 Museum. Recommended to anyone who loves kitsch.
Drive to Alton, IL (supposedly one of the most haunted towns in the US) just to cross both the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers near their confluence.
Buy babka at Black Bear Bakery to bring home because there are NO bakeries that make babka where you live.
