Forza does this now, and got the expected pointless griping (especially among Steam players). But what I don't get was something that came up today

When you start the game it'll call you by your Microsoft account name. Then you can go to the settings and pick any nickname you want and it'll call you that from now on.
Apparently this is awful for trans people because they're hearing their deadname. But it's their Microsoft account - if they don't like the name, why haven't they changed it on their account?
