Yeah the article is actually completely wrong in multiple ways in that paragraph. Kind of impressive actually. -- (edited)

Those figures represent the maximum out-of-pocket limits (not contribution limits) for insurance plans if you want to participate in an MSA. Which are entirely different from an HSA. The updated HSA contribution limits are $3,650 and $7,300 and were determined in May.
