That’s fine for small things. Now think larger. You need a kitchen appliance because the stove broke. It’s 4-6 months out. Big problem.

You’re buying a new house…there’s no stoves. That house isn’t finished, no move in, … the big ticket items start to slow things down. You aren’t going to rush to finish a house if you can’t cook so the contractor slows…that’s hundreds of thousands of dollars delayed. You add a few hundred thousand up by 50 homes…you’re quickly straining significant money…
A different brand of toothpaste is an annoyance….an industry slowed by molasses is a recession.
