For a $2200 car...that amount of damage will result in the car being totaled. I'd almost guarantee it.

But...I'd take it to the body shop and verify it.

Once you do...I'd let the guy know that the value of the car is $2200 and it's totaled. I'd ask for $3000 to cover the cost of the car and the inconvenience.

He doesn't like it...file a claim.
