You should always be paying attention to the space around your car....if you see them coming behind you, you move up or over if it safe to do so....

I learned this in Driving School....most accidents can be avoided and its the responsibility of both parties to know whats going on around them.
Most people do some sort of action/reaction at least once a day that avoids an accident due to someone elses stupidity
