Yellow cake. More specific to the question, the flavor of the cake is well, the flavor of the cake. The frosting is added to the cake

So you could have a chocolate frosted, chocolate cake or you could have the example which is a chocolate frosted, yellow cake.
Which is actually kind of a lousy example as yes, yellow isn't necessarily a flavor but it the type of cake in that example.
