I think a lot of that was them having to run him into the ground to try to avoid the Wild Card

in a normal world, he pitches on good rest.
but he's a 37yr old who pitched on the 6th, the 11th, the 14th, and the 17th
the first 2 are reasonably decent rest, but he threw 110 pitches on the 11th...bringing him back for an inning is just rough...then to start again?
