In response to "I'm just glad to have Husker Nowledge back into the RTT. With an acceptable record. -- nm" by ReluctantCynic

Apologies for the multiple posts. I fell victim to the Netgear Armor (by Bitdefender) blacklisting trap.

Great idea. Awful implementation.

I installed a new Netgear Nighthawk router this afternoon. It's pretty damn good. Easy to set up. Easy to use.

Until I came back to Slacktertalk. I tried making the post above, but the browser skipped right to a page warning that Netgear Armor (by Bitdefender) had detected a malicious webpage prone to malware -- with one choice: "Return to Safety." Which brought me back to the draft post I'd just drafted.

And there is no option to whitelist a webpage yourself. None. The only option is to submit a URL through Netgear's website (https://www.bitdefender.com/submit/), which will be sent to their review team. And about 72 hours later (or so) Netgear will let you know the results of the review and whether the URL has been whitelisted.

Infuriating. Reprehensible. And it makes me want to launch a class action lawsuit.

And do you know how long it took to disable Netgear Armor (by Bitdefender) and all those wonderful, patronizing protections? About twice as long as it took me to figure out how to whitelist a URL.
