I'd watch it. There was a moment in Pt. 2 where John

reaches into his coat pocket and takes out a little baggie of smack and looks at it before remembering there are cameras everywhere, and then he looks right at the camera like he knows he's busted himself but no one else noticed ... very subtle stuff like this throughout that rewards carefully observant watchers.
The session I was talking about earlier, Paul comes in last and as he sits down he shoots John a look like "I've been a bad little boy" and he's clearly high as a kite on coke. But he also kind of shrugs like "I'm ready to play, let's play".
Creatively it seems Paul was at his peak at about this time while John seems more interested in "anti" behavior like never singing the lyrics the same way twice and going for more of a riffed ad hoc sound on Dig a Pony.
Paul's trying to figure out perfection and John has freed himself from the demands of perfection.
