I don't think my local multiplex is going to survive. My visit to the 4:00pm Ghostbusters screening. Details follow:

3:53pm Arrive at the multiplex. There is no one in the lobby - no customers, no staff. it's empty. I see the door to the manager's office is open. I stand where they can see me. A young girl emerges:

3:55:
Her: "what can I help you with?"
Me: "I was thinking of watching a movie."
Her: "Do you have cash? Our system is down."
Me: "I have cash. I'd like to see the 4:00 Ghostbusters.
Her: Okay, You're in theater 5. Sit wherever you want we don't have assigned seating today because our system is down.

3:57:
Theater 5 is absolutely empty. I take a seat. The screen is dark. Usually there are pre-show ads. (I guess the system is down.)

4:01
The screen is dark. Usually there are 15 minutes of trailers before the feature. I guess the system is really down.

4:16
The screen is dark. I call the phone number listed on their website to ask if they're going to show a movie at any point. The phone rings 8 times then a recording says 'there is an error" and hangs up. Wow, their system sucks.

4:17
I go to the lobby to see if there will be a movie today. The lobby is empty, and the managers office is empty. There is literally no one in the theater.

4:21
Back in the (empty) theater, the trailers have started playing.

4:37
The movie begins.

Final grade:
The theater is doomed.
"Ghostbusters: Afterlife" gets a B-.
In my opinion, a Ghostbusters movie should be primarily a comedy. This film was a competent story about family, but not as funny as the previous films.

I didn't recognize McKenna Grace as Phoebe, but she was excellent, as was the rest of the cast.

If there is a sequel with this cast, I will watch it.
