I do agree that it’s weird. I have some experience reffing things and the last thing you want is for the result to have to depend on your decision.

It sucks that Max won but forever people are going to be able to say ‘yeah but’

But if it had gone the other way and Lewis won, there would’ve been people upset with that decision as well.
