Also, if it's a community mailbox with multiple slots, maybe they went into the wrong box. I would print out the track info and put it in the box.

I've done it before. Letter carrier sometimes mis-sorts the mail into someone else's box. I write a nice note that's very clear for him/her to see, in box letters, "Dear Letter Carrier..."
