In response to "that's amazing. I suggest someone write it out? my storiy of finding my father's cousins thru his mother" by loosilu

My father is 3rd of 4 siblings. They never met anyone from their mother's family, ever. She was estranged, apparently through her own mother. Records showed her mother was the eldest of 7 children in Brooklyn, Irish father German mother. Maggie had one child. The other six also had children but they have proven almost impossible to trace except on gravestones, that's where I found the last names.

SHelby is kickass at records research, I'm ace at the DNA stuff as well as online research. Pamela did 23andme as a huge long shot, to find her father. Apparently quite a ladies man! When I showed my father a photo of Pamela he said, That's my mother's face. And it is.

The OTHER thing, I emailed Pamela and she said, oh, my daughter has curly red hair. I pulled up a picture of her and fell off my chair laughing. She has my exact hair. Nana's genes were strong.
