I've been thinking about this. Unless a remake somehow Lucas' the original into nearly not existing, what type of short term memory does one have to

have to think that a new version ruins the original one, scars their childhood and other horrors.
The same media forces that endlessly mine IP, have (to the greater extent) made it easier than ever to experience the originals. If it was worth remaking, it's almost undoubtedly streaming these days.
Didn't like the live action Cowboy Bebop, just go watch the original. That ought to write over your seemingly short term memory that some how thinks a new version completely obliterates the first version.
Neflix's Death Note was far from perfect but it absolutely doesn't keep me from using the calligraphy L as an avatar. They're just parallel things to me.
