Closer to "olive" a similarity a professor in the math dept used to great effect.

He had the cutest little doggo who came to campus with him. The dog's name was either "Olive" or "Aleph." No one could be sure because his accent precluded distinguishing between the two. He chose to remain silent on the matter out of amusement. I can respect that.
