No redundancy in the office, no back-up. What happens if the guy gets sick or dies? He quit because you took away the vacation time he asked for at Christmas then try to guilt him about family and Christmas? He's so blind to his own arrogance that he refuses the employee's offer to come back to work because of how much he's asking, all the while losing 3x as much every hour!
The company is bigger enough to have an HR department, they're big enough to have backups and backups of backups.
The only thing the company may have going for it is an employment contract that might require any employee who resigns to have to give notice and/or train a replacement. If that's the case, the guy who quit may be on the hook for any liabilities the company incurred due to his abrupt resignation.
