The idea is a "Best Burger" contest where for $50 for 1 punch card or $75 for 2 punch cards (think "Date Nights" if you get 2) - you get a punch card with 25 local restaurants that will serve you up a free burger - can be used over the span of 4 months - all you have to pay is any tax or drinks or other food your order. Can be dine in or take out - and no other restrictions.
Each restaurant chooses their options - so - at some - it may come with fries - some - fries may be extra - it's totally their choice ... but at a minimum - your burger is free.
Locally here - burgers are between $7 and $15 - just depends on how fancy the place is for what they charge.
At the end of the 4 months - you will get an email to vote on your top 3 - and results will be totaled and shared ... not sure yet if we'll have a traveling trophy or not - hard to say if this will become an "annual" thing.
I came up with the idea as an alternative to 'restaurant week" - which we usually do for 10 days the first part of March.
This would accomplish the same thing - driving dining business locally during slow season - but instead of only 10 days for a crunch - it would be over the span of 4 months.
We'd probably have to limit the total number sold ... but at $50 & $75 - it could be a great fund raiser for the Chamber too ... where restaurant week had only made $100 for each restaurant participating.
OK - so my question is this for you:
Is 25 burgers in 4 months too many to offer? I mean - between grabbing either lunches or dinners - is that too many?
It's a value of approximately $250 if you figure 10$ average each burger ... and you're getting it for $50 or if you buy 2 cards, $37.50.
When another place offered this 3 years ago - it was 14 places and the cost was $39 - same time frame.
