My sister has had long COVID and really struggled for a while. She seems to have improved recently (though I think my parents still worry).
Same with a teammate - she still can't walk more than a couple hundred feet without having to rest. Her lungs have scar tissue.
I am so sorry that your wife is having to go through this. :(
