well maybe once he's there he votes on other things on the ticket that he's not knowledgable about and screws up something locally

like say he hypothetically lives in california and votes yes on 8 because he doesn't know what it's about or doesn't understand the wording and it gets passed by one vote.
in this scenario he doesn't effect the presidential election, but does screw up something else. peoiple end up voting on lots of things they don't understand, it could easily happen
