Put what you're currently doing first, then where you'd love ideally to be employed, and then give a reason as to why you cannot accomplish this

presently given the employment you're in. Don't be guarded, or have even the semblance of not revealing all, if you wish to receive this person's free advice. Honesty comes across really well on paper.
Other than that, in your current job, grasp the nettle with both hands and go for it.
