So then you make player for player trades. The new rules force creativity all the way around, starting with last year's draft.

If you don't think you're getting value for Kelce, you keep him until during/after the draft and then work a deal then.
Right now, you're trying to have your cake and eat it too, almost exactly as that scenario is meant. You want the thing and the benefits of not the thing.
Realistically, draft trades start in the fifth and sixth round now. That's just how it is. If you're not getting the value there, you keep the player.
