If it's just for snow I might go with something less expensive than Sorel. Definitely check out the boots ty mentioned below and Merrell.

I'd look at stores like Marshall's and see what they have in stock. Check eBay as well. If you won't be out in the snow for hours then I'd go with something less bulky but still warm and waterproof.
