The problem with super long rides (unicorns) is that you usually dead head back and the cost of driving means you literally lose money

it costs you average 65 cents to drive, gas is a small part of the cost. prius is the most popular car for ubers because they average 42 cents a mile
driving someone to portland or the US/can border from seattle is considered a fantastic unicorn ride but deadheading home you lose money and your time is free
