Is rock music, like, dead?

Is there really music being made today that people will call 'classic rock' in 20 years? It feels like the genre is abandoned and there are no new rock acts. It's all Green Day and Fall Out Boy releasing new albums and that's it.
Have I imagined this? Is rock just not popular so it doesn't get played?

Here's the recent playlist of my local "rock" station, you be the judge. I pretty much stream all my music now and don't pay attention to radio. -- (link)

There's a ton of decent rock being put out now. Reagen or rollo could probably list 30 off the top of their heads.

No, but Mr. Beato put it well recently: rock has been lacking in popular movements/trends. Every band is trying to get noticed all by themselves

There’s some quality heavier stuff like Disturbed and Avenged Sevenfold that are still doing the work — Foo is Rock Grammy royalty. -- nm
