I broke 80 once. It was on our home course during team qualifying for our very first tournament.

We played 18 holes over two days for each tournament, and the coach took the best players. I shot 42-37=79 with a beautiful 20 footer for birdie on the terrifying last hole. Just played out of my mind that day. I will never forget it.

I was probably right around an 18 handicap at the time, so I guess that's equivalent to a 61. :)
