That was about the level of my HS coach. We didn't have a team until I was a senior. He became coach by default.

I'm sure he didn't mind the extra pay. Kind of an odd guy, but he did legitimately teach me a few things, and completely rebuilt my swing. I, like most everyone on the team, had no formal training. We were a bunch of rural kids who just whacked the ball around.
