Cryptocurrency people will rob us of post-scarcity potential because, in part, it will tether us to the completely unnecessary concept of artificial scarcity.
It doesn't have any advantage over regular currency, no more than PayPal originally did. Its derivative products don't have any advantage over the systems they are trying to supplant, except for the part where they sidestep the existing power structure - that's it. Same shit, different hill.
It's 100% a retread of Uber's business strategy to displace the existing players and then offer a worse product that has predatory tendencies built in.
