A helpful reminder to my ST friends: take care of yourself first.

A friend of mine, around 40 years old, recently returned home from a month long stay in the hospital + 10 more days in rehab. He had developed Crohn's disease (a nasty inflammatory bowel disorder) which he did his best to ignore for years. He had shed probably half his body weight and become so anemic and malnourished that his own body had started breaking down more essential parts. That's what led to the eventual hospitalization.
He's home now and on the mend, but what an ordeal. Hospital stays of that length for that age range are extremely rare outside of trauma patients, so that gives you an idea how out of sorts he was.
So please, for your own sake and the sake of those who love you -- including us crazy people who live inside your computer -- please stay on top of your health situation. Ignoring problems doesn't make them go away.
