for once I have a legit insurance question
where she at?
buying (3-year lease, technically) a new car after 13 years of not having one — or carrying any auto insurance
the Allstate dude is quoting me $350/mo on the expectation I would be driving 6k miles a month. I won’t be using it to commute during the week so unlikely I would drive that much but I really don’t have a frame of reference for what my avg monthly miles will end up being
the other wrinkle is it’s a fuel cell Honda so book value of $60k but not really priced that way for my monthly lease payment ($379). i can swing the quoted premium if that’s the going rate, but not having paid for insurance on over 10 years I don’t really know what the going rate for me should actually be

6,000 miles a month seems excessive. I drive what I consider to be a normal amount and average about 15,000 miles per year. -- nm
