is there a gap if they won’t let me take delivery until I have a policy in place?

I haven’t paid a dime on it yet because the dealer won’t do anything until I come back with coverage (on Sunday, ideally)
so until then — tomorrow, basically — it’s still under the dealers policy AFAIC
