when I was in ICU, the patient in the next bed died. Nuns tried to distract me, but I knew what was happening. My doctor then doped me up until I was ready for surgery. I'm told that people visited me in ICU, but I have no memory of that. When I was told that someone had visited me, I had to ask, "was I polite?" I was not.

That was 40 years ago.
