He's an ass. But there aren't many CEOs who aren't. Bezos is moreso, but gets half the attention.

One complaint I saw on a backboard is Musk takes credit for others work, but if you listen to him talk at length he uses almost exclusively "us", "the team", "our crew" etc when talking about the companies.

He gets in trouble when he forgets where his expertise lies. He's been wrong about Covid and how to deal with it from the getgo. His ideas on government and taxation are often self-serving libertarianism.

But on engineering, he's good. Very good. And he is effective at achieving goals even if his timelines are super optimistic.
