In response to "STIS: When someone passes, how do you get access to their bank accounts?" by colin

This won't help your current situation - but for everyone - you can fill out a form at your bank called a Payable on Death.

You list the person you want to be able to access your money if you die - then they just go the bank with the POD and death certificate and they get your money.

No will, no probate - none of that shit. Even if it's in the will - you still might have trouble getting access to it. But with the POD - it's quick, easy and painless.

Tip from your Uncle Turd!
