from bbs - aren't there only a handful of states that do the initiative/proposition thing? that may be why most people haven't seen the ballot books

we get here.
we receive a sample ballot with little summaries, then the more in-depth (often with lots of legalize) version.
if you just read the summaries, it can give a very different picture of what might happen for each prop. which bugs me. (also am bugged that the props are not fully legally vetted before appearing - we have had multiple instances where they were tossed in courts post-vote.)
i end up reading all that's mailed from the state, and also multiple newspaper opinions and eds. and write-ups. it's very work-like. unfortunately, i know not everyone does the research. :/
