Even if it happened as reported, the bigger issue is that a man would ever give a 4 year old a gun and tell them to shoot. -- (edited)

The fact that it's against a police officer is secondary to a 4 year old being trained how to fire a gun then being told to do so against another human.
Said differently, it's said that it was immediately changed from a gun control issue to a "people hate the police" narrative.
