Essentially Putin is smart for acting and we're weak, rather than the reality that Putin has invaded a democratic neighbor for his own "purposes". They also would oppose any actions beyond what the US is taking (or even the ones we are taking because they may cause gas prices to go up), so they aren't offering any proposals other than "hate democrats".
