Hes fully commited now he has almost 200000 troops in and around Ukraine. He backs down now he would look weak to the Military especially since he has already threaten NATO oh he will negotiate but will be on his terms and demands Now if they gets drawn out more and he isnt making progress then there may be some sincerity to this.
